CBIZ & MHM is currently seeking a highly motivated Trust & Estate Tax Director who will be responsible for developing and delivering tax consulting and compliance services for High Net Worth individuals and family groups. The primary services focuses on providing consulting services in the areas of gifting, estate planning, charitable giving, and trust compliance and administration.

This position is a Managing Director track position.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple engagements which include consulting, compliance, and tax planning services
  • Design and communicate planning opportunities to clients ensuring successful implementation
  • Work with client service team to ensure coordination and implementation
  • Work collaboratively with clients’ attorneys, investment and insurance advisors
  • Assist with and manage IRS and state audits
  • Successfully manage client relationships by consistently providing clients timely and appropriate communication and services in relation to their needs
  • Generate and or assist with new business development activities
  • Supervise, motivate, and train junior level team members
  • Assist in managing internal tax department through committee membership and group leader responsibilities
  • Other responsibilities as necessary

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • MST preferred
  • CPA or JD certification required
  • 15+ years pf public accounting and/or law experience, minimum 10 years tax required
  • Comprehensive tax consulting experience and demonstrated expertise in taxation and knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulation
  • An ability to effectively present information and appropriately respond to questions from clients and team members
  • A track record of successful new business development experience a plus
  • Excellent analytical, supervisory, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills necessary
  • Experience and continued interest in developing and mentoring junior team members
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel required.
