Job Description

CBIZ Network Solutions provides onsite technical support to Edward Jones home and branch office locations in the US and Canada. We are a trusted Edward Jones vendor with a strong focus on customer service. Our team troubleshoots and repairs computers, printers, telephone systems and other technical components. In addition, our team provides onsite technical support to Edward Jones as needed to coordinate projects, manage processes and provide software solutions.

CBIZ has a Technical Writer IV position available in our Maryland Heights, MO office. This position is responsible for creating, writing, editing, and organizing operating instructions, how-to manuals, assembly instructions, and “frequently asked questions” pages to help technical support staff, customers, and other users.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Create and maintain the document management architecture and processes directly related to the general business operations of CBIZ Network Solutions and client businesses.
  • Produce high-quality, detail-oriented documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Write easy-to-understand, thorough, and precise user interface text, online help and user guides, videos, and self-paced training tutorials to help end-users maintain electro mechanical equipment using a variety of applications and tools
  • Grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Utilize web-based and Microsoft-based technologies to develop and post training materials.
  • Translate complex, technical information for colleagues and consumers with non-technical backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or communications.
  • Three to five years of job-related prior experience.
  • Three to five years of experience using MS Power Point, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, Captivate and Illustrator.
  • Proven work experience in technical writing of technical documentation or instructional materials
  • Prior experience and/or education with Computer Based Training Design (CBT)
  • Experience with MS Office 2010and 365 software: Word, Excel, Project, Access, Outlook, Skype.
  • Experience or training with the following technology and/or tools: Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Flash, digital photography, web publishing and web site administration and technical writing.
  • Able to use general office equipment including computer hardware and software.
  • Excellent communication, customer service and technical skills.
