Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Oversee the accurate compilation and timely release of prepared submissions to market
  • Determine coverage viability in the standard and E&S markets
  • Be in control of correspondence pertaining to the submission including answering underwriting inquiries, advocating for the best possible rates and designing coverage intricacies for high risk accounts
  • Communicate constant feedback concerning new business and renewal quotes to the sales and client service team
  • Analyze final quotes for all carriers
  • Complete a final comprehensive copy of the proposal of coverage to give to the service team for presentation to the client
  • Know carrier underwriters/brokers, knowledge of carrier appetites, who to call when help is requested from a staff member in any office
  • Participate in Renewal Meetings with service teams on a monthly basis
  • Market New and Renewal business over $3,000 in revenue to CBIZ
  • Assist producers with new business sales, presentations as needed
  • Vet new business opportunities in conjunction with producers and sales manager
  • Assist with answering RFP’s
  • Assist with review of existing coverage for prospect accounts
  • Join service team and producer on new and/or renewal presentations as requested by service team or producer
  • Maintain spreadsheet of accounts being marketed; compile results of Wins/Losses including expiring and renewal revenue to CBIZ
  • Maintain industry knowledge on changes in coverage, new coverages, etc.
  • Send market updates to commercial staff regarding changes in carrier appetite, underwriter contact information and changes in the marketplace
  • Manage local carrier relations and track annual progress to carrier goals
  • Meet carrier goals as respects submissions and premium volume
  • Maintain list of carriers/intermediaries with appetite information
  • Maintain list of underwriting contacts
  • Seek out appropriate relationships within standard and E&S markets
  • Provide marketing assistance to other CBIZ offices as needed
  • Have a working knowledge of subject matter experts in other offices to rely on when questions arise
  • Work as member of Transition Team for acquisitions, including assisting in submitting business on acquisitions behalf, setting up sub codes with current carriers, and contract issues as needed
  • Resolve coverage discrepancies on marketed accounts
  • Drive consolidation/reduction of carriers and third party intermediaries

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of new and renewal account marketing experience
  • 5+ years of Commercial Lines experience

Qualifications Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 5 years of insurance carrier placement experience
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Advanced customer service skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
