CBIZ has an immediate opening for a Senior Benefit Administrator/Account Manager is our Government Contracting Practice in our Salt Lake City Employee Benefits office. The CBIZ Government Contracting Practice is a national practice specializing in the benefit needs of company’s subject to the regulatory requirements of the Service Contract Act and Davis-Bacon Act.

The Senior Benefit Administrator is responsible for day to day administrative support to clients’ HR/Benefit Departments, fulfilling the outsourced benefit services provided as part of our overall service offerings.

Essential Functions & Primary Duties:

  • Oversee administration of client benefit plans through CBIZ proprietary technology platform, including:
    • Update of employee census information and other system data
    • Online enrollment of employees
    • Reconciliation and payment submission to finance team of carrier invoices
  • Resolve eligibility, claims and other benefit issues
  • Coordinate COBRA notices and elections with COBRA administrator
  • Review enrollment waivers and issues for acceptable documentation
  • Review and facilitate qualifying life event changes
  • Provide high level call center support for client employees
  • Provide additional support to Technology, Finance and Business Development teams
  • Work with brokerage account manager, carriers and vendors to assure proper operation of benefit plans
  • Assist Account Executive in training of client service staff
  • Escalate client concerns when appropriate
  • Assist client services management in conducting client meetings as needed
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned
  • Ensure that all internal controls and procedures are followed
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or equivalent
  • 3 years experience in benefits; insurance license a plus 
  • Proficient in MS Office and demonstrated ability to use applicable technology
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
