CBIZ Valuation Group, one of the nation’s largest independent, full service valuation companies, is currently seeking a Real Estate Valuation Manager that would be based in our Lawrenceville, NJ office.  The ideal candidate is one who is motivated and ready for an opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment where continued professional development is valued.  Our Valuation Managers perform all aspects related to the commercial real estate valuation/appraisal.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Proficient at all Senior Consultant essential functions
  • Active in new client development
  • Assists Directors and Managing Directors in initial client meetings, presentations and proposal development on a regular basis
  • Demonstrates proficient technical skills for handling all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc.
  • Understands the client's organization, procedures and internal policies
  • Understands the client's overall business needs and identifies value-added services that CBIZ can provide
  • Manage and maintain multiple client relationships, engagements and special projects
  • Identify client issues and conflicts; communicate possible solutions to the client management team
  • Capable of developing an overall engagement budget, and capable of managing and performing engagements on budget and on time
  • Meets individual goals for CBIZ cross-serving
  • Capable of scheduling staff to effectively meet clients' needs in a timely fashion
  • Exhibit leadership capabilities including the ability to listen and communicate with staff effectively
  • Foster a team environment for overall Business Unit
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of developing an overall engagement budget, and capable of managing and performing engagements on budget and on time
  • Has direct responsibility for meeting specific performance goals as defined by Senior Manager or Director, including:
    • Minimum billing/utilization targets
    • Minimum managed revenue target
    • Minimum revenue origination target
    • Engagement realization of 80% or better
  • Participate on a regular basis in various forms of practice development such as memberships in qualified organizations and maintains strong relationships with business associates who are potential referral sources
  • Continue professional development
  • May display early characteristics of the Director level
  • Supervise Consultants and Senior Consultants as they perform their client field work relating to real estate appraisal engagements
  • Research data for analysis (Market/Sales/Rent/Regional, etc.)
  • Analyze property data and real estate income and expense statements
  • Have an understanding of real estate appraisal valuation methodology and concepts

Preferred Qualifications

  • MAI designation is desired or in Candidate program seeking designation.
  • State licensure or certification  is required
  • Proficient computer ability relative to administrative programs, spreadsheets, valuation or real estate software, time entry, word processing and internet research

Minimum Qualifications                                                                  

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-7 years of experience in Real Estate Valuation field
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology (such as Argus)
