About this position

You will be on the ground floor of our development of an automated accounting service and support method utilizing QBO and related Apps.  Your role as a QBO Technologist professional is to assist in evaluating clients existing accounting methods and performing the research into various QBO Application providers to determine which satisfy the client’s needs best and then performing proof of concept of those Applications.  Your technological curiosity and drive to stay on the leading edge of QBO and QBO related applications for various industries will be critical to your success. 

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Help in identifying and vetting the core tech stack offerings
  • Be the key member in assessing the client’s needs in terms of how best to streamline their accounting.  You will use that evaluation to research the QBO ecosystem to best identify the applications that can meet those needs.
  • Perform proof of concept on the clients system, including converting the client’s prior data into QBO and the core technology stack along with any specialty applications you have identified to best address the client’s needs.  
  • Once proof of concept is compete, work with the team for system conversion through go live and early post integration and upon completion transition the project to the ongoing support team.   
  • Consult as needed with others within the firm for support.
  • Attend QBO related conferences as requested.
  • Help create ongoing training and guidance for our internal and external QBO community

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience automating a small / midsized business’s accounting workflows and converting QB desktop to QBO with multiple Applications (for example Receipt Bank or Bill.com) strongly preferred
  • Accounting experience is preferred to best enable clarity of understanding the client’s needs
  • 2-3 years industry experience or working with clients
  • 4 year degree preferred but not required
  • Experience with technology implementations and conversions
  • Must be technologically curious, oriented and driven.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required along with 2+ years of management accounting experience
  • Exceptional customer relations skills and a track record of working well with others
  • Ability to manage time and deadlines effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of both CBIZ and our clients
  • Proficient use of applicable technology and ability to learn as technology changes
  • Quickly learn and navigate different technologies
