MHM Retirement Plan Solutions (MHM-RPS) is a fast-paced, seasoned Third Party Administrator providing services to company sponsored retirement plans.  We are a wholly owned subsidiary of CBIZ MHM LLC.

MHM-RPS provides Third Party Administration services including plan design, consulting and administration of company retirement plans, such as 401(k) and 403(b) plans.  We partner with platform recordkeeping providers, providing investment advisors, plan sponsors and participants with access to participant directed investments.  We also prepare Form 5500s for Welfare Benefit Plans.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

  • Assist with all aspects of plan administration in a balance forward and platform driven daily valuation environment.
    • Collect and review of census data, determine employee eligibility and participation
    • Reconcile trust assets to participant accounts and census
    • Prepare match and/or profit sharing calculations based on client goals and needs
    • Prepare and review coverage and non-discrimination tests, including controlled and affiliate service group considerations
    • Calculate ADP/ACP refunds, recommend appropriate correction method and work with team members to distribute timely
    • Complete and review contribution calculations (age weighted, integrated, cross tested, etc.)
    • Perform annual testing including coverage, top heavy and non-discrimination testing
    • Determine vesting and update platform recordkeeping web site
    • Prepare 5500 Forms, related schedules and other IRS Forms
  • Monitor various compliance due dates for client base (i.e. Form 5500 and various participant notices)
  • Review plan documents, understand retirement plan provisions and accurately apply to client and participant circumstances, including distributions, loans and vesting
  • Recommend and discuss with plan sponsor plan design changes
  • Convert new clients from prior platform recordkeeper to new provider, including mapping plan document provision to CBIZ MHM prototype document
  • Train and mentor team members and conduct thorough reviews of end work product
  • Projects managed with limited supervision
  • Maintain all aspects of client relationships 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office; Excel and Word required
  • Experience with Relius Administration for plan recordkeeping is desired, but not required
  • Must be willing to obtain CPA, QPA or QKA designation
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Peak workload occurs January to March

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred.
  • CPA eligible; desire to obtain certification is required.
  • Internship experience in accounting or related field preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and audit project management skills, including knowledge of GAAP, Taxation compliance, codes and regulations and GAAS rules, procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet and audit software.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
