An Internship with CBIZ is intended to give students experience in a office environment, exposure to meaningful work and an introduction to CBIZ culture - giving them a chance to network with experienced partners, managing directors and leading professionals. The High School Internship program uniquely benefits CBIZ by giving our professionals the opportunity to guide a student's skills and abilities, gain potential future talent and help maintain a relationship with the Boys & Girls Club and local community.

Job Purpose / Objective

  • Works as a member of the assigned group in providing outstanding service to internal and  external clients
  • Works directly under the supervision of a member of management
  • Position has the potential for a direct hire full time position after graduation

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Perform all aspects of a specific project or work in progress with a goal to train or continue to train  the incumbent
  • Possess and apply a solid understanding of the work environment; be punctual and present
  • Possess a general understanding while able to articulate various services the business unit and  CBIZ provide to clients
  • Respond to inquiries and requests
  • Strive to attain goals established by direct supervisors.
  • Positive attitude toward self, other professionals, clients and CBIZ
  • Ability to gain computer proficiency relative to administrative programs, spreadsheets, word  processing and internet research
  • Professional in appearance and manner
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • The high school intern is interested in pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in a field associated with the CBIZ business model
  • You have Microsoft Office software skills
  • You have a strong attendance record
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You have time management skills and an ability to multi-task

Minimum Qualifications 

  • A high school intern must be currently pursuing or graduated within 6 months with their high school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
