About this position

Your role as a bookkeeping professional is to help our clients with their bookkeeping needs and to improve their business through teaching, coaching, and advising them.  Additionally, you will help design the clients accounting towards creating accurate and complete financial records to streamline our tax advisory and preparation services we do for the client. 

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Work on multiple clients performing a full range of accounting support duties ranging from
    • Full charge management accounting solely performing the month end close including utilizing month end control schedules, journal entry check lists, etc as needed
    • Accounting support duties which may include but not be limited to transaction entries (e.g. sales), expenditures, accruals (if/as needed), etc
    • Performing all or selected regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and retained earnings roll forwards
    • Process accounts payable and receivables (if/as appropriate) either manual or with use of automated workflow systems if available
    • If needed assist client with use of an outsourced payroll system and related matters (for example W-2s, etc)
    • Various compliance filings (for example 571s, 1099s, etc)
    • Assist in automating small business client accounting workflows
  • Efficiently prepare and organize work papers and supporting documentation utilizing our documentation methodologies and follow the appropriate closing process(es) and internal preparation requirements

  • Utilize QuickBooks and QBO (as the primary client-used accounting system) and other accounting systems as needed
  • Ability and willingness to travel (if/as needed) to clients within the local area
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with outsourced accounting on multiple clients
  • Four year degree helpful but not required
  • Credentials such as CMA helpful but not required
  • Experience successfully stepping in to accounting clean up situations
  • Experience in full charge bookkeeping for the contractor, construction and service industries a plus
  • QBO Advanced Certification is preferred

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required along with 2 years of accounting experience. Associate’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional customer relations skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
