The Corporate Recovery Services (CRS) group is a team of accounting experts that perform forensic accounting and litigation support services on behalf of law firms, governmental agencies, corporations and private individuals.  This team combines a detailed understanding of the business, industry, and economic context with the ability to address complex accounting, and financial reporting issues.  CBIZ CRS takes pride in the development of a comprehensive and well-reasoned work product, including presentation of logical, defensible support for key assumptions, consideration of all available analytical procedures, and creative thinking beyond standard accounting approaches.  The success of the CBIZ CRS group is embodied in the quality work product which is designed to withstand review by third parties and, as applicable, in audit support, administrative and court proceedings.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Reviewing and analyzing financial information and accounting records
  • Performing forensic accounting analysis on litigation support and bankruptcy/restructuring engagements
  • Writing reports summarizing analyses performed and their impact on client
  • Reviewing and summarizing legal documents and client specific information    
  • Identify and communicate issues, technical matters and improvement opportunities with Senior Associates, Managers, and Managing Directors to ensure that they are informed on workload and assigned project progress.
  • Working with Audit and Tax Department personnel on cross-department engagements as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field preferred
  • CPA candidates preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and project management skills
  • Strong accounting technical knowledge including proficiency in GAAP and GAAS rules, procedures and standards
  • Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment
  • Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet and audit software
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs (less than 20% travel)

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
  • Must have completed at least one “Busy Season”
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
