We are seeking an individual who has a proven desire in a leadership opportunity within a growing but an established property and casualty brokerage, has experience in a sales/service background, must be confident managing a large staff, and be able to transform the culture into a sales-driven environment

Essential Responsibilities & Primary Duties

  • Establishes self as a change management leader within the office. The ability to make tough decisions and convert office into a leading sales and service center.  Responsibility for personal lines, commercial (small/middle market) and claims.
  • Ability to recruit high-level talent while leading and mentoring multiple service, claims, and sales individuals to maintain consistently high-performance levels
  • Ability to put together and execute a business plan that will achieve positive results for the Cumberland office
  • Ability to implement and execute a defined proactive sales process within the current and new service staff
  • Achieves organizational objectives through the coordinated achievements of subordinate staff
  • May spend a portion of time performing individual tasks related to the unit. However, supervisory activities constitutes a primary part of the job
  • Execute and accountable for annual goals and priorities
  • Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial and human) are in compliance with departmental goals and objectives
  • Influences the direction for new or revised services, programs, processes, standards or operation plans
  • Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Over 8 years’ experience in area of expertise with increasing complexity
  • At least 6 years’ experience managing and leading staff
  • Must have an experienced sales/service background
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrated  industry experience; product knowledge, proposal process, underwriting, regulatory trends and presentations skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Expert knowledge of state and federal legislation and regulations impacting discipline
  • Expertise in managing clients
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills
