The Director of Offshoring Operations acts as liaison among our Financial Services leadership, business units, and offshore business partner for our offshoring initiative. This role leads the offshoring operation under our dedicated offshore resource model, and will define and implement best practices for offshoring operational excellence for selected tax compliance and other service line processes. In this regard, the Director will have the overall responsibility to coordinate collaborative functions among various groups including practice units, Corporate IT, Legal, Human Resources, Training and work with other National Tax Office directors.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for the successful implementation and operation of the corporate return and offshore strategy for the CBIZ Financial Services Division
  • Contribute to building a shared vision of our solutions and facilitate decision making relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms
  • Ensure successful development of solution roadmaps to ensure successful introductions and implementation across the organization and with clients
  • Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and capacity models for respective business areas
  • Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, including business units, the information technology department, finance, operations, human resources, legal, and outside vendors
  • Coordinate and/or lead internal team members and external resources by applying a broad knowledge of most technical and business resources
  • Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the CBIZ Financial Services Division
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT offshore process and prioritization of projects across the company
  • Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes; provide recommendations on desired policies and goals and implement new/revised programs according to established guidelines
  • Participate in or lead research in pursuit of new solutions and to evaluate the applicability and usefulness of current solutions involving offshore processes

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
  • 8 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 6 years supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Broad tax experience in multiple tax technical areas, including familiarity with tax software platforms, workflow tools and all aspects of the tax compliance process
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills
  • Must be able to travel statewide and internationally based on client and business needs
