Job Purpose / Objective

CBIZ Savitz is looking for a dedicated, self-motivated Defined Contribution Consultant who has a strong desire to build relationships and provide outstanding service to our clients. We seek a candidate who has a strong background performing contribution calculations and both standard and advanced nondiscrimination testing. Candidates for this position must be willing to be located in our Philadelphia, PA office.

We provide retirement plan consulting and administration services to mid-sized clients located in the Philadelphia region and across the United States. We value teamwork and our commitment to take care of our people and our clients.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Maintain relationships and consult with assigned Clients to manage the completion of annual plan administration or special projects as defined in scope of services
  • Work closely with Plan Sponsors, Recordkeepers, Financial Institutions and Auditors to deliver practical solutions to help Clients maintain their qualified plans
  • Review, interpret and advise on Plan Documents, Amendments, Notices and Summary Plan Descriptions
  • Consulting on issues related to IRS and ERISA compliance
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested to manage profitability of assigned workload
  • Assist with proposals and new client conversions
  • Complete or review all aspects of Annual Plan Administration including:
    • Employee data reconciliation
    • Contribution/allocation calculations, including Match, Safe Harbor, Top Heavy, Profit Sharing and New Comparability
    • ADP/ACP, Coverage, Top Heavy, Non-discrimination and other advanced Compliance Testing, including corrections of ADP/ACP Testing and Projected Testing
    • Trust Accounting preparation and reconciliation
    • Compliance Reports
    • Governmental Filings such as Forms 5500, 8955-SSA, 5330, 1099-R / 1096 and 945
    • Audit Support for Large Plans
    • Calculation of Corrective Contributions and Distributions, including VCP and SCP filings
    • Preparation and review of distributions and loans
    • Maintain documentation of Client communications
  • Assist with other functions relating to the administration of qualified defined contribution plans
  • Perpetually build knowledge base to strengthen area of expertise
  • Maintain systems proficiency to enhance Client services delivery

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience within the retirement plan industry
  • 3-5 years retirement plan administration experience, with emphasis in the 401(k) and 403(b) environment
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations and correction programs, retirement plan compliance testing rules, regulatory changes, plan documents, trust accounting and Form 5500 filings
  • Positive and professional attitude, client-focused and proactive
  • Organization and time management skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including experience identifying problems and providing effective resolutions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Commitment to accuracy of work product and client deliverables
  • Ability to delegate and supervise staff
  • Willingness to attend client meetings
  • ASPPA designations or pursuit of professional designations in process (QKA, QPA, CPC), or equivalent technical knowledge
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Knowledge of administration/compliance software; experience with ASC is a plus
  • Experience with FT William Form 5500 software is a plus
