About the Team

The Director will be a full-time permanent role supporting the Management Consulting team.  The Management Consulting team helps our clients solve their toughest problems including defining and evaluating various strategies. We analyze market trends and businesses to help our clients gain the right perspective in order to stay focused and maintain their competitive edge. We help our clients at both the business unit and corporate level to develop and execute sustainable strategies that enhance the customer experience and raise the brand integrity to ultimately drive an increase to shareholder value.

Role Responsibilities

Merger & Acquisition (M&A) professionals provide private equity buyers with a broad set of services throughout the entire deal cycle in support of mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs and stand-alone deal value capture.  Typical services during the different phases of a deal cycle include:

Pre-deal Services:

Business and operations diligence, identification of deal value capture, synergy identification as a result of a merger, identification of standalone recurring and one-time costs as a result of a carve-out

Sign and Close Period Services:

Refinement of deal value areas identified during the diligence phase, refinement of integration or stand-alone complexities, and development of Day One and 100 Day plans

Post Close Services:

Executing performance improvement initiatives, synergy realization, integration management, and standing up / separation activities and management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience at a Manager or Senior Manager role at large Accounting and Advisory firm, or general consulting firms, either at practices supporting a deal/transaction role or as a member of the Consumer and Retail Operations and Strategy practice
  • Demonstrated increasingly progressive responsibilities working and managing some of the activities described above for private equity clients and some of their portfolio companies
  • A proven track record of leading and/or participating in engagements at private equity firms throughout the deal continuum
  • A track record in executing and leading medium – large merger integrations for companies in the C&R industry throughout the entire deal cycle.  Specific experience and knowledge in identifying integration synergies, integration planning, development of Day One activities and 100 Day plans
  • Ability to rapidly develop and leverage well-tested integration plans and IMO tools and templates using industry leading practices
  • Experience in leading a cross-functional Integration Management Office (IMO)
  • A track record in executing and leading a carve-out for companies in the C&R industry throughout the deal cycle.  Specific experience and knowledge of identifying stand-alone costs, carve-out planning, TSA development, and development of Day One plans
  • Ability to rapidly develop and leverage well-tested carve-out plans and PMO tools and templates using industry leading practices
  • Experience in leading one or more functional integration / separation back-office streams
  • Effectiveness in coaching and leading a more junior team of highly performing associates with a desire to mentor internal and external resources
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability in interacting with senior executives
  • Experience with private equity clients and their portfolio companies across
  • Broad experience with different sectors within the Consumer and Retail industries
  • Proven track record in identifying and executing performance improvement initiatives for companies in the Consumer & Retail industry across different functional areas
  • Exposure to and knowledge of different mid-market ERP systems typically used for consumer products or retail companies
  • Knowledge of and/or exposure to the design of a Target Operating Model
  • Experience in working on transaction in different sectors within the Consumer and Retail industries
  • Established trusted relationships with mid-market private equity firms

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 8 years of experience in either Consulting or relevant industry roles, with a minimum of 2 years in Consulting/Advisory
  • 6 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
