CBIZ’s Credit Risk Advisory Group serves the needs of a diversified client base, including financial institutions, non-bank lenders, debt funds, private equity and hedge funds, institutional investors, and companies in need of debt or equity financing. Our professionals provide services specifically tailored to our clients' changing needs, including the varying aspects of initial or periodic analysis for financial transactions, including debt and equity transactions. We have experience across multiple lending and equity transaction, various debt asset classes, specialty lending/securitization and asset-based lending areas.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties  

  • Perform all aspects of client fieldwork, meeting client objectives as defined in scope of services under the direct supervision of senior consultant and above
  • Apply area of expertise relative to client engagements and perpetually build knowledge base and thus, strengthening area of expertise
  • Execute solid analysis, delivering creative and practical solutions for client engagements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of findings and recommendations
  • Deliver timely and appropriate responses to client inquiries
  • Adhere to engagement budgets and complete assigned tasks within the time requested
  • Develop and maintain systems proficiency to enhance client services delivery
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Travel, as necessary, based upon client requests/commitments
  • Ability to multi-task several simultaneous projects
  • Must be capable of applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills across client engagements, which would include various industries
  • Proficient use of applicable technology, such as Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

Qualifications Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields
  • 1-3 years of experience in related field (accounting, internal audit, finance, banking, field examination, etc.)
  • An understanding of core business processes such as Receivables, Inventory, Cash/Treasury, and Accounts Payable, with knowledge of accounting operations and Lending
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to process and summarize large amounts of data
  • Experience in professional services or consulting in accounting/financial firm
  • Interest in debt and equity transactions, accounting, finance and internal control testing and financial statement analysis
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1 year of relevant experience
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
