We’re looking for an experienced, creative, energetic and passionate communications professional to support the business development initiatives of CBIZ Insurance Services, Inc.’s dynamic Program Division. The CBIZ Programs Division provides specialty insurance tailor-made for specific industries and other unique coverage needs of business owners. 

The Communications and Content Specialist will be responsible for the creation of a variety of written communication for the division, including web content, white papers, flysheets, articles and blogs. The position will work closely and collaboratively with other members of the business development team, and plays a critical role in ensuring consistency and quality throughout all client communications and deliverables.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Provide clear and concise content by working collaboratively with subject matter experts
  • Develop multi-purpose content into targeted deliverables for advertisements, articles, client service templates, promotional deliverables and client education pieces
  • Write and publish web content and blog posts on an ongoing basis, including topic research, copywriting, and editing to support business initiatives and attract site visitors
  • Support management in the development of strategic partnerships within the industry 
  • Follow latest industry developments, research market trends and stay up-to-date on competitors
  • Contribute to the development of business strategy and plans
  • Serve as a back-up for social media strategist as needed
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or similar field
  • 3-5 years of experience as a copywriter or content development professional
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Less than 3 years of proven business development experience  
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets
  • Results driven and customer focused
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business need
