Job Purpose / Objective

  • Function as part of department senior management team
  • Manage client account and internal account teams
  • Provide strategic business insights to clients and internal leadership

Roles & Responsabilities

  • Manage overall client book of business
  • Operate as a subject matter expert in connection with the design and administration of employee benefit plans (Defined Benefits, Defined Contribution and/or Health and Welfare)
  • Share knowledge and make sound business decisions
  • Gather, understand and utilize data and key metrics to make recommendations on internal department procedures
  • Recognize business opportunities for our clients and for CBIZ
  • Participate in new business responses and presentations
  • Assume significant client responsibility as client’s trusted advisor, is relied upon for:  knowledge of industry trends; identification of client issues and conflicts; proactively communicating solution options to client and team
  • Manage staff on timely execution of engagement deliverables, including meeting regulatory timing requirements for each client
  • Complete technical and strategic reviews to ensure quality control standards are met
  • Assume responsibility for new client development in partnership with upper management
  • Lead client meetings and presentations
  • Familiarize clients with all CBIZ services and assist with the development of proposals in connection with individual cross serve goals
  • Assume responsibility for billing and realization on assigned clients; develop overall engagement budget, analyze and explain variances
  • Develop and maintain understanding of client’s employee benefit plan goals and objectives
  • Supervise, train and mentor staff; listen and communicate effectively
  • Work to develop responsible, trained staff by conducting performance feedback and evaluations
  • Drive a team environment; demonstrate support of management decisions and build a positive culture
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required or at least 5-8 years of experience in related field
  • At least 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • Credentialed member a  plus but not required (ASPPA, SOA, CCA, AAA, CEBS)
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize assignments as necessary
  • Ability to manage staff to ensure appropriate priorities, deliverables and development of skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other applicable technology
  • Ability  to travel based on client and business needs
