About the Role

This role reports to the Managing Director and head of our Financial Sponsor Coverage team and is critical to expanding our market share with clients and prospective clients in the Greater New York City metropolitan area.  The role is based in CBIZ’s New York City office at 5 Bryant Park. 

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Identify, network into, and establish relationships with junior and mid-level professionals at private equity firms, investment banking firms, and other M&A constituents in the Greater New York City metropolitan area.
  • Nurture and leverage existing firm relationships to expand contacts within a PE or IB group.
  • Prepare team members for telephonic and in person meetings by completing information sheets necessary to conduct successful calls/meetings.
  • Help schedule, participate in, and lead follow up on telephonic and in person meetings.
  • Log and update all data tracking fields in SalesForce after telephonic and in person meetings.
  • Log and track advancement of individual professionals along our sales cycle continuum. 
  • Use tools including PitchBook, LinkedIn etc. to navigate.
  • Send best practice emails to probe for needs where CBIZ can deliver solutions.
  • Attend conferences to market CBIZ and optimize brand awareness.
  • Work with Marketing to follow up on specific lead generation campaigns.
  • Present actionable business intelligence off fund news to properly stay top of mind and advance more individuals at more funds.
  • Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of new services, industry trends and competition.
  • Must live in the Greater New York City metropolitan area.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will possess 6+ years of client service and/or sales experience in a professional services organization. 
  • Familiarity with alternative investment asset classes strongly desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.com.
  • Ability to demonstrate contact development through leveraging personal and professional network. 
  • Proven ability to establish multi-level relationships within a single firm.
  • Ability to recognize and prioritize action across multiple prospect opportunities.
  • Must be a self-starter that can work independent of daily oversight.
  • High level of maturity and professionalism while displaying tenacity.
  • Candidates should possess an intellectual curiosity.   

Minimum Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working for a professional services organization.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus presentation skills.
