Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Assess, review, and approve all phases of business development  
  • Analyze sales data on sales results and develop plans to address
  • Responsible for examining and evaluating the organization's business development processes
  • Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of business development skills 
  • Accountable for the delivery of business development activities, pipeline status, and advancement into sales
  • Provide technical expertise that contributes to new business outcomes
  • Develop and drive strategic planning including positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning
  • Populate and update relevant data in the CRM system
  • Drive the creation of marketing strategy and plans
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Use knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met
  • Provide business development training and mentoring

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

Qualifications Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 8 years of proven business development experience  
  • At least 3 years leading sales efforts
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Advanced communication, sales, and presentation skills
  • Proven track record of meeting sales targets
  • Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Results driven and customer focused
