Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Accurately and timely perform benefits administrative duties including administration, billing, reconciliation and customer service responsibilities for multiple clients, across multiple states
  • Manage and process all benefit changes and ensure all changes are processed in accordance with benefits plan requirements
  • Provide ongoing customer service to clients, internal contacts, and insurance carriers
  • Maintain applicable clients’ benefit systems including election events, change events, alerts, rates, plan documents, reports, and all other aspects utilized by client
  • Manage the leave of absence process for clients, including administration of information and reporting of aggregate data for clients
  • Complete monthly processes for the client including reconciling benefit carrier invoices to current enrollment data and prior month’s identified discrepancies to ensure completion
  • Perform audits of all transactions and changes to verify accurate processing
  • Manage open enrollment for clients including system updates, employee meetings, and reporting as necessary 
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all benefits matters by participating in ongoing trainings and continuing education
  • Perform the full range of customer service according to commitments and standards set forth by the department in order to drive customer satisfaction
  • Work to understand and collaborate on processes, procedures and programs
  • Collaborate with peers to present solutions and define best practices for clients
  • Organizing daily tasks and managing workloads
  • Assist internal and external clients with requests and problems in a timely manner
  • Ensure internal controls and audits are followed accurately
  • Work to exceed department metrics and goals as established by a manager and team leader
  • Effectively operate all department equipment
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Communications, or Business 
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience preferably in customer service, human resources, accounting, and/or benefits
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Excels at operating in an fast pace environment
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Persuasive with details and facts

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in the insurance industry or in an HR function
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
