CBIZ is seeking an IT professional to fill an entry level Application Developer I position in our Independence, OH office.  This associate will perform technical and analytical functions in the development, implementation, and support of applications within the organization. This position will be part of the Corporate IT Application and Data Services team, which is responsible for managing a portfolio of applications, while working with the business to provide solutions to complex business problems, create operational efficiencies, automate processes, and provide business intelligence reporting.  We have a terrific work environment and also offer the opportunity to work remotely one day per week.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

  • Develop new or support and enhance existing applications and their related system integrations and analytics.
  • Design solutions to solve complex business problems and identity opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and enhance business capabilities.
  • Participate in any number of the aspects of a common systems development lifecycle. (Analysis, Requirements, Development, Testing, Deployment, Maintenance)
  • Conduct unit testing of system changes and coordinate user acceptance testing with the business.
  • Provide support for existing applications, system integrations, and business processes in a project-based environment.
  • Prepare and maintain application and process documentation.
  • Participate in the selection process for new third party applications.
  • Support, develop, and enhance application ETL processes.
  • Manages a workload of project specific and operational support tasks

  • Problem Solving and Technical Troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft .NET Development(C#, VB.NET, MVC), Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Team System, Service Oriented Architecture
  • HTML5/XHTML, CSS3, jQuery/JavaScript, IIS 7.5+
  • RESTful web services
  • DotNetNuke Evoq Web Content Management System or similar
  • Google Analytics/AdWords, Search Engine Optimization
  • Pardot Marketing Automation or similar
  • Salesforce CRM or similar
  • SaaS Application Implementation and Management
  • Computer Science/Information Systems Degree or equivalent preferred

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • High School Education or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll processing, accounting and payroll tax filing procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization
  • Excellent customer relation skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology; aptitude and willingness to learn CBIZ payroll system
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Able to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and pay close attention to detail on many, varied tasks
