The Actuarial Analyst is responsible for the completion of actuarial valuations for pension plans and retiree medical programs.   Other duties will include the completion of other projects under the direction of Actuaries and other Actuarial Consultants.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties: 

  • Reconcile data and asset information for actuarial valuations
  • Assist with setup and programming of actuarial valuations
  • Prepare actuarial funding reports using Excel based templates
  • Prepare pension disclosures under appropriate FASB and GASB standards
  • Analyze participant experience against actuarial assumptions
  • Prepare government filings and required participant notices
  • Prepare individual benefit calculations and benefit statements
  • Update power point presentations to present actuarial results
  • Attend client meetings
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Performs other tasks and duties as reasonably requested

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business Administration, Actuarial Science or related discipline. 
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Commitment to taking actuarial exams
  • Proficient use of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally  
  • Demonstrated positive public contact personification
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Proven mathematical and finance aptitude
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Proven time-management and multi-tasking skills
