CBIZ, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager in our Corporate Office to manage the accounts payable function for the Shared Services Center to ensure timely and accurate processing of payments, 1099’s and unclaimed property. 

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Provide day to day leadership and direction to the Accounts Payable and T&E processing team members
  • Provide leadership and direction over process design and workflow
  • Implement new payment solutions/processes
  • Participate as AP team lead in ERP system implementation, replacing existing ERP.
  • Manage timely and accurate processing of CBIZ payments
  • Monitor and report on AP process for daily, monthly and close purposes
  • Develop operational improvement plans
  • Ensure newly acquired entities are effectively integrated into shared services processing
  • Manage corporate vendor relationships, including stewardship reviews, contract negotiations and remediation of issues.  Work with business units to support compliance with corporate purchasing programs.
  • Conduct staff meetings
  • Responsible for staffing levels of AP team including interview, hire and train new associates
  • Plan, organize and define roles for AP team members
  • Develop staff through effective coaching, counseling and execution of performance management process
  • Develop and monitor metrics to measure productivity and goal achievement
  • Manage resolution of issues and variances within responsibility scope
  • Analyze data or implications and provide recommendations to management
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of 1099s to IRS
  • Provide customer service to sites and vendors
  • Develop and monitor AP policies, procedures and internal controls conferring with business leadership and staff members as necessary
  • Communicate AP initiatives and activities to customers (business units)
  • Adhere to ethics and employee code of conduct policies and, as appropriate, communicate the same to subordinates
  • Review activities within job scope for sufficient controls to prevent errors and misstatements of financial results
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • 7 years experience in relevant field
  • Functional knowledge of general accounting
  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficient use of applicable technology; Oracle knowledge a plus
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to interview, hire and train employees
  • Ability to address employee needs and resolve problems
  • Ability to travel as required by business
