We are currently seeking an Accounting Specialist in our Roanoke, VA office that has experience reviewing Accounts Receivable and Collections. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Position requires degree of subject matter expertise
  • Accountable for reviewing and maintaining accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions
  • Review Accounts Receivable and Collections
  • Resolve a full range of internal and external customer requests
  • Research and assemble data
  • Prepare documentation and proposals for internal and external clients
  • Provide guidance and outcome data to management on area of expertise
  • Assist with Multiple Product reconciliations
  • Ensure responsibilities detailed on financial statement schedule are accomplished and meet critical deadlines
  • Prepare bank account reconciliations
  • Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts in the General Ledger, such as prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued and deferred accounts etc.
  • Assist with inter-company  transaction processes
  • Create General Ledger entries for various monthly transactions
  • Analyze and review General Ledger expense accounts and identify and correct inaccuracies
  • Manage employee receivables
  • Assist Reconciliation Manager with daily responsibilities
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or two years of experience on a specialized subject matter
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
