Job Purpose / Objective 

  • To assist internal and external local clients with questions and needs and ensure department goals are met through teamwork and collaboration
  • Position requires degree of subject matter expertise
  • Assist the controller in managing daily responsibilities
  • Accountable for reviewing and maintaining accurate and timely recording of accounting transactions.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Resolve a full range of internal and external customer requests
  • Prepare bank account reconciliations and review all accounts payable bills and invoices 
  • Prepare documentation and proposals for internal and external clients
  • Provide guidance and outcome data to management on area of expertise
  • Assist with training on subject matter
  • Ensure responsibilities detailed on financial statement schedule are accomplished and meet critical deadlines
  • Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts in the General Ledger, such as prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued and deferred accounts, etc.
  • Assist with inter-company transaction processes
  • Create General Ledger entries for various monthly transactions
  • Analyze and review General Ledger expense accounts and identify and correct inaccuracies
  • Manage employee receivables
  • Assist controller with budgets, monthly management reports and analytical work
  • Research and assemble data
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or two years of experience on a specialized subject matter
  • 3-5 years of broad accounting experience preferred
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology; spreadsheets and accounting software applications preferred
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
