The National Tax Office Applications Associate will perform activities to maintain existing and new applications. This person would assist with testing, implementing, and maintaining platforms for the tax practice and National Tax Office. They would also be integral in tax help desk solutions, preparation of documentation, and training. Additionally, this person will be involved in monitoring performance of integrations and quality control of platform functionality.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Provide tax application support solutions
  • Assist in the maintenance of tax application solutions guides
  • Review application release notes, manuals and training for maintenance and enhancements
  • Participate in application upgrade and new functionality testing
  • Interface with internal employees and vendors to explore issues and find solutions
  • Assist with testing and implementing new applications
  • Any additional duties and projects as assigned  

Preferred Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years of experience in public accounting or similar professional services experience
  • Familiarity with common tax department processes such as engagement letters, organizers, workflow, tax returns, workpapers, due date monitoring/tracking, and e-filing.
  • Knowledge of applicable technology (e.g., CCH Axcess Tax (or ProSystem), CaseWare, various workflow and document management systems)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Must be comfortable working independently (remote), and as part of a team
  • Proficient use of non‐tax technology (e.g., MS Office suite of software, including extensive proficiency with Excel, Word, and Power Point)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, multi-task, and meet deadlines 
  • Collaborates effectively all levels in the organization 
  • Creative problem-solver and critical thinker 

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • 3 Years of experience as a subject matter expert
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
