Essential Functions and Primary Duties

Professional and Technical Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with clients and their external audit firms to research and prepare documentation related to complex and technical accounting issues as well as SEC and private company reporting matters
  • Maintain and expand current skillset in technical accounting, documenting complex accounting analysis and financial reporting matters
  • Demonstrate excellent professional oral and written communication skills
  • Exhibit a professional, business–like demeanor
  • Apply problem solving skills and deliver ARC Consulting methodology on engagements
  • Build and broaden industry knowledge to support organization and functional initiatives
  • Exercise professional judgement on engagments by by identifying issues and providing proactive solutions
  • Provide recommendations for improved and enhanced accounting and reporting practices to clients
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide guidance to other engagement team members
  • Proactively manage career – set goals and career plans with Managing Directors

Senior Manager Responsibilities include:

  • Experience working on projects related to complex debt/equity, embedded derivative analysis, preferred stock accounting / classification, SAFE notes, warrant classification, revenue recognition, business combinations/purchase price allocations, asset acquisitions, goodwill and long-lived asset impairment analysis, IPO transaction support, fair value accounting, lease accounting, VIE analysis, and IFRS conversions
  • Responsible for identifying complex accounting issues, technical review, and financial reporting, of various accounting matters to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other applicable regulatory bodies
  • Proactively identify, research, consult and prepare / review technical accounting memorandums on proposed and or completed transactions and issues
  • Perform ad-hoc technical accounting research and provide guidance to the Technical & Transactional Accounting group within the company
  • Provide insight to or participate in preparation of new or existing accounting policies with the ARC team based on evolving industry standards and practices and inspire changes in those areas
  • Contribute to strong client relationships through meaningful interactions with high level client personnel
  • Lead/contribute to engagement planning and communicate engagement status updates
  • Understand the engagement as it relates to client's business and industry
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the client’s business and identify high-risk accounting areas
  • Ensure high quality of engagement realted products/deliverables
  • Writing/developing client reports/deliverables and communicating engagement results
  • Deliver services that meet ARC Consulting standards of excellence

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BBA/BS is Accounting, Finance or business related feild required
  • U.S. CPA is required
  • MBA/MS/MA degree is a plus
  • CFA, CIA, CISA, or CISSP certification is a plus
  • 8+ years related experience required
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP (revenue recognition, equity accounting, consolidations and financial reporting) is required
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards is a plus
  • Prior public accounting or consulting experience is required
  • Prior technology (software/software-as-a-service and life science industry experience is a plus
  • Team leadership skills/expeirence is required
  • Proficiency in MS office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7 years experience in related field
  • 5 years supervisory
  • Must have and preserve required licenses
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on business needs
