The International Tax Manager is responsible for advising a wide variety of business and high net worth clients on the tax implications relating to their US international business activities and objectives as well as consulting with the federal tax group on all international tax matters; researching US international tax issues and authority; managing and coordinating the tax services of CBIZ and Kreston member firms when consulted; managing, supervising, and reviewing the preparation of all US tax forms and disclosures in connection with the international compliance practice; quality review of US tax returns; and developing with a team with expertise in international taxation. 

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

All aspects of international tax planning, consulting and compliance related to:

  • Development and implementation of tax planning structures
  • Cross-border tax transactions advisory
  • Both in-bound and out-bound international tax planning and structuring
  • Tax treaty analysis
  • Tax information reporting
  • Drafting technical memorandums and documentation
  • Tax planning and compliance as it relates to mergers, restructurings, acquisitions and dispositions
  • Assistance with the due diligence process and analysis
  • Subpart-F and foreign tax credit planning
  • Transfer pricing planning and compliance
  • FIRPTA
  • IC DISC
  • Tax provision review and support
  • Tax compliance review and support

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of international tax experience
  • CPA or JD is required
  • Candidate should have both inbound and outbound international tax experience
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate, business and individual tax including tax research and compliance from an international perspective
  • Exceptional client service skills
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and master multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidates should be prepared to meet challenging client requirements, provide value added services and should possess strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and analytical skills 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation, or related field
  • 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $120,000-$175,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on education, experience and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
