CBIZ Accounting Advisory Services Group is currently hiring for a Senior Consultant position. The group assists companies with complex technical accounting, internal and external reporting, external audit preparation, and IPO preparation. Our professionals assist clients with their efforts to meet financial reporting requirements, including the preparation of financial statement and regulatory filings, and the application and implementation of complex accounting standards for U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Develop excellent professional oral and written communication skills in order to establish working
- relationships with client personnel
- Exhibit a professional, business–like demeanor
- Build and broaden industry knowledge to support organization and functional initiatives by taking advantage of our training programs and participating in relevant teams
- Be knowledgeable in the areas of stock-based compensation, basic revenue recognition concepts, goodwill and intangible assets, operating and finance leases and financial statement drafting, cash and investments, fixed assets, accrued expenses and prepaid expenses
- Exercise professional judgment on engagements by providing proactive solutions and recommendations
- Proactively manage career – set goals and career plans with Managing Directors
- Contribute to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel
- Understand engagement as it relates to client's business
- Demonstrate knowledge in some areas of industry or functional specialty
- Assume responsibility for components of engagements
- Contribute to engagement planning and ensuring high quality of related products/deliverables for each
- engagement
- Recognize and communicate opportunities to sell 'add–on' work to client
- Writing components of various reports/deliverables related to engagements
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BBA/BS in Accounting, Finance or business related field required
- US CPA is a plus
- MBA/MS/MA degree is a plus
- 3+ years related experience required
- Knowledge of US GAAP is required
- Knowledge of IFRS standards is a plus
- Prior public accounting or consulting experience is preferred
- Prior industry experience is a plus
- Team leadership skills/experience is a plus
- Proficiency in MS office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3 years of experience in related field
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Presentation skills mandatory
- Must possess analytical skills
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
