CBIZ MHM, LLC., is seeking a highly motivated, business-minded Property Tax Director with strong people skills to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, your primary areas of focus will be client management, independent facilitation of settlements by attending hearings and/or informal negotiations for multi-state portfolios. You will participate in strategy and execution around sales, marketing, growth, profitability and develop and execute goals aligned with the objectives of the property tax team.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:


• Manage tax filings, appeals, and hearings; negotiate values with assessors, and represent clients before boards of review


• Inspect and analyze properties, research market data and prepare value workups based on income, cost, market and equity approaches to value


• Support team by identifying and providing input on profitable property tax opportunities


• Analyze assessment notices and determines potential assessment reductions


• Coordinate with attorneys on litigated accounts


• Develop new business opportunities and participate in execution of service line growth initiatives (new service offerings, sales, marketing, etc.)

Preferred Requirements:


• 3 - 5 years commercial property tax appeals experience


• Client account management, business development


• Strong verbal and written communications skills


• Experience working independently or within a team environment

Minimum Requirements:


•Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred


•8 years of experience in public accounting or related field 


•Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary


•Proficient use of applicable technology


•Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally


•Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills


•Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
