Objective: 

Working at the direction of the Senior Manager, Process Optimization & Change Management within the Financial Services (FS) Practice Management Office (PMO), the primary responsibility of the PMO Project Manager is to serve as Project Manager for PMO projects focusing on time delivery of projects across stakeholders within the Core and Advisory practices within FS.

Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creating long and short term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Communicating with executives to keep the projects aligned with their goals.
  • Estimate resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an efficient and effective manner
  • Performing quality control on projects throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs or financing for the project change 
  • Provide feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement to team members
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Analyze business requirements, costs and benefits, project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives through formal business cases and project charters.
  • Manages a project portfolio and project roadmap.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal project management experience, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
  • 10 years of broad business, IT and operational experience.
  • 3-5 years of practical experience defining requirements, managing projects and implementing systems.
  • Experience working in an Accounting firm and with relevant applications such Time and Billing systems, Tax Preparation software, Client Portals, Work Paper Management, Scheduling, Workflow, Document Management, Data Extraction, Audit Methodology.
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills, analytical abilities, problem solving, and follow through.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies and best practices
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of an organization

Qualifications Required:

  • Requires six years of broad operational and project experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Be able to identify a variety of options and quickly recommend the most appropriate solution
  • Ability to work in concert with others and support the product, process and system owners to achieve strategic results
  • Strong personal computer skills are essential including Widows and Excel
  • Good organizational and communication skills and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to travel based on business needs
