Essential Functions and Primary Duties


  • Support in developing, implementing, monitoring and continuously improving upon client service team deliverables for new and renewal business 
  • Utilizes tools to monitor and ensure service team adheres to service standards including timelines of deliverables of assigned accounts  
  • Analyze and resolve problems 
  • Assumes accountability for decisions made by direct reports 
  • Interpret policies and demonstrate solid subject matter knowledge 
  • Exercise judgement within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action 
  • Ensure team members understand and can deliver on CBIZ's Business Proposition 
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, training of staff including conducting employee performance evaluations and onboarding new team members 
  • Influence the direction for new or revised services, programs, processes, standards, and / or operation plans 
  • May spend a portion of time performing individual tasks / strategic tasks related to the unit, however, supervisory activities constitute the primary responsibilities of the role 
  • Provide input and participate in hiring decisions, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations and rewards 
  • Execute annual goals and priorities 
  • Ability to support on any and all client matters as needed 
  • Collaborate efficiently with carrier partners and stay abreast of new products and market trends 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

Qualifications Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Over 6 years of experience managing multiple clients of increasing complexity in the insurance industry
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Technical knowledge relative to industry and incorporating contract provisions, renewal and claims processing, plan knowledge, and carrier funding
  • Expertise in managing clients with alternative funding arrangements
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Expert knowledge of state and federal legislation
  • Sets priorities and manages work flow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate deliverables
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
