Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

• Research, including Internet research, and summarize materials relating to employee benefits.  Involves review of state and federal  statutes and regulations as well as publications, journals, and professional/industry-related topics.

• Assist in preparation of certain corporate documents, including organizational documents.

• Assist in preparation and distribution of various internal and external compliance guides and newsletters, PPT presentations for company-sponsored webinars, checklists, internal memoranda, and other employee benefit-related materials communications

• Maintain internal compliance webpage on company intranet

• Maintain files and cataloging of:

• Journal articles, periodicals, commentaries and other employee benefit-related materials by subject matter.

• State and federal statutes, regulations, and legislation.

Preferred Requirements: 

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree

• Knowledge of ERISA and related employee benefit laws 

Minimum Requirements: 

• High school diploma or GED

• Approved paralegal certification 

• 2 years of increasingly complex work in a legal environment 

• Excellent research skills to include internet research and writing skills 

• Ability to work independently.  Telecommuting arrangement considered

• Organizational and prioritization skills with ability to multi-task

• Analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Possess problem-solving ability through detailed analysis of various rules, regulations, laws, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally 

• Proficient use of MS products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe and web publishing, and other applicable technology
