Network Solutions has a Network Support Specialist position available in Maryland Heights, MO. Telephony Network Support Specialists are responsible for providing tiers 2 and 3 telephony and global branch network support for our client offices. The Network Support Specialist works in partnership with other associates, departments, and divisions throughout the firm to seek continuous improvement in streamlining service delivery.

The Network Support Specialist is responsible for providing actionable insights to support business decisions. They work to understand the problem, define the approach, assemble the data, perform the analysis, and generate insights, and present actionable information back to the business.

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical network and telephony problems
  • Provide technical network and telephony support to Edward Jones global branch office
  • Provide excellent support to the Branch Telecom Support (BTS) team
  • Work to improve service delivery so Edward Jones Financial advisors can further client relationship
  • The Network Support Specialist does not manage any other associate

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications or Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in telecommunications and networking technologies or experience in a Helpdesk environment with an emphasis on analytical work
    • LAN Operations & WAN Operation
      • Experience with maintenance of carrier-provided data and voice communication circuits
      • Experience with support and configuration of branch office network and telecommunications hardware, software, and/or topologies
      • Experience with the diagnosis of layer 1, 2, and 3 problems and associated errors, including media connection types, copper T1, ADSL, SDSL, Cable, and fiber optic connectivity
      • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, including conceptual knowledge of Q0S, BGP and multicast routing protocols
      • Basic Knowledge of UNIX command line
      • Basic knowledge of router, switch and UPS troubleshooting
      • Conceptual knowledge of the OSI 7-layer model
    • Telephony Operations
      • Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of branch office carrier-provided data and voice communication circuits
      • Experience in the administration and support of branch office voice technologies
      • Basic knowledge of Toshiba phone systems and eManager application
      • Basic knowledge and understanding of carrier provided features such as voicemail, caller-id, hunt groups, remote call forwarding, etc

The annual salary target for this job in this market is $46,000-$68,000. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
