CBIZ Somerset, formerly Somerset CPA’s & Advisors, is always looking for smart, ambitious, friendly people to join our team in Indianapolis! Our successful professionals know that building solid relationships with our clients is as important as effectively leading others through an engagement. Our Managed Accounting Solutions team is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to support our clients in the Healthcare industry. In this role, you will be responsible for providing general accounting services, financial reporting solutions and other accounting advisory recommendations to help our clients meet their business objectives.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Manage the overall accounting and financial reporting function by reviewing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and preparing financial statements
  • Examine completed financial statements and provide timely review notes to staff to ensure client needs are being met consistently 
  • Review and sign quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
  • Increase the accuracy and transparency of the company’s financial standing by preparing reports and dashboards to help our clients understand their financial data and provide solutions to enhance best practices
  • Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balance
  • Proactively identify accounting, internal control, and financial reporting deficiencies and provide guidance for implementing solutions and process improvements
  • Train and assist with the development of new and current staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years of accounting experience (public accounting preferred, but not required)
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online and/or willingness to embrace new technology
  • Highly adept at planning and organizing workload to manage multiple client engagements in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to multi-task, think independently and be an expert problem solver

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
