The Corporate Recovery Services (CRS) group is a team of accounting experts that perform forensic accounting and litigation support services on behalf of law firms, governmental agencies, corporations and private individuals.  This team combines a detailed understanding of the business, industry, and economic context with the ability to address complex accounting, and financial reporting issues.  CBIZ CRS takes pride in the development of a comprehensive and well-reasoned work product, including presentation of logical, defensible support for key assumptions, consideration of all available analytical procedures, and creative thinking beyond standard accounting approaches.  The success of the CBIZ CRS group is embodied in the quality work product which is designed to withstand review by third parties and, as applicable, in audit support, administrative and court proceedings.

CBIZ CRS is seeking a Director who is a Family Law expert and has an established practice. This Director will head up the firm’s matrimonial accounting practice and must have the ability to provide forensic accounting, litigation consulting and expert witness services in connection with the financial elements of family law and matrimonial disputes.  This position offers a challenging opportunity with a growing and high quality accounting and advisory firm with a significant litigation, forensic and valuation services practice.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Provide comprehensive analysis and reporting of the accounting and financial aspects involved in a family law and matrimonial case
  • Work closely with counsel, providing vital divorce services relating to the financial aspects in mediations, settlement discussions, and trial and have the forensic accounting skills to investigate and uncover unreported income and assets
  • Provide written valuation reports for business ownership interests that are part of the marital estate
  • Work with attorneys and their clients to prepare income analyses, determine employment benefits and examine the tax effects of all of the issues of the case, along with preparing lifestyle analyses to help attorneys resolve alimony and child support awards.
  • Participate in deposition and trial testimonial process and simplify complex financial communication in order to present his or her opinions at trial in a clear and convincing manner

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Graduate or Specialty Degree preferred
  • 8 years of experience
  • 6 years of supervisory experience (if applicable)
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
