A large focus of this role will be on the Employee Retention Credit (ERC). The ERC is a payroll tax credit for businesses that were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team takes a very detailed approach to calculate and substantiate these claims for our clients. We work with mid-sized businesses nationwide. The three main tasks that are seen throughout our process are:

  • Data manipulation and analysis
  • Research and application of complex IRS guidelines
  • Client communication; Working with our clients to gather all necessary information

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • The position we are looking to fill will work on a wide range of tax and financial consulting projects with a heavy focus on research, process development, and data analysis.
  • The initial focus will be to help process and improve procedures for our client’s Employee Retention Credit (“ERC”) claims.
  • As ERC projects come to an end, we would then focus on developing and delivering consulting solutions to our clients. The projects will involve researching and developing processes to offer solutions for our client’s tax and finance related needs.
  • Some examples of future projects:
    • Providing individuals and businesses support for decision making by analyzing financial data and information.
    • Provide findings, recommendations, and solutions based on analysis of financial data.
    • Conducting research for complex and uncommon tax/accounting matters.
    • Developing standardized processes within the firm to streamline operations.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
  • Internship experience in accounting or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of
  • organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on excel (required)
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business (required)
  • Strong analytical mind and quantitative skillset (required)
  • Python for data analytics (recommended)

The estimated rate of pay for this job is $60,000-$65,000/year, which may vary based on education, experience, geographic location, or other job-related factors.
