Director of Total Rewards
JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for our overall approach to compensation and for ensuring our benefits offerings remain competitive and attractive to top talent in the professional services industry. The role works closely with our Senior Leadership Team to design, implement, refine, and support competitive compensation, including base, bonus, incentives, sales, and executive compensation, to motivate and retain our team members. Working in partnership with the HR leadership team, this role leads a combined group of team members and consultants to develop our benefits strategy and priorities and to identify opportunities to engage our team to take full advantage of our offerings. This role reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is a member of the HR leadership team.
Job Duties/Obejctive:
- Leads a dynamic team that includes HR team members and consultants to develop and implement a comprehensive approach to total rewards aligned to our values-based culture and overall goals for team member performance, motivation, retention, recruitment, and experience.
- Monitors market trends and best practices in total rewards to inform our approach and drive continuous improvement. Establishes priorities to continue to enhance our total rewards offerings in ways that are meaningful and compelling for our team.
- Builds a strategy and leads execution of all compensation and rewards offerings including process and programs. Prepares annual compensation budget information and provides ongoing analysis in comparison to budget. Supports CEO and CHRO in the preparation of analysis and materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Leads efforts to integrate benchmark and comparative data to inform our approach to compensation and benefits.
- Partners with business and HR leaders on compensation reviews and total rewards practices related to offers, promotions, salary adjustments, off-cycle or variable payments or incentive programs.
- Leads overall job architecture (level and structure) and drives implementation and ongoing refinement.
- Provides oversight for all benefits offerings including administration of health and welfare benefits such as medical, dental, supplemental life insurance, short and long-term disability programs, 401(k), leaves, etc.
- Monitors the regulatory environment and interprets external industry information to inform our approach and ensure our programs remain compliant with applicable laws or regulations in each area/jurisdiction in which we maintain a presence (domestic and international).
- Supports acquisition growth strategy by serving as a subject matter expert during due diligence, integration planning and ongoing execution.
- Defines, monitors, and articulates total rewards performance metrics including service level agreements to assess and demonstrate ROI and effectiveness. Supports HR reporting and review processes.
- Builds, leads, and develops a team including team members and consultants to support a rapidly growing company.
- Own and manages external vendor and consultant relationships.
- Partners with diversity and inclusion leaders from across CBIZ and utilizes best practice information to ensure total rewards programs attract, retain, and promote a diverse workforce and inclusive culture.
- Partners with the corporate communications team to communicate total rewards programs and opportunities to enhance team member understanding and perceived value of total rewards programs on an ongoing basis.
- Leads all aspects of annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process including market analysis, plan design, cost modeling, stakeholder management, communication, and systems configuration.
- Additional duties as assigned.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years advancing experience in Compensation or Total Rewards. Compensation certification strongly preferred (ex. CCP).
- Demonstrated success developing, implementing, and leading total rewards programs for complex organizations with global operations.
- Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, influential communications and to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to developing and growing a team, and proven ability to manage consultants and external vendors for execution.
- Working knowledge of current employment law and government regulations. Awareness of best practice and market trends in compensation especially within professional services and publicly traded companies.
- Prior experience with HRIS within total rewards efforts.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills and thorough knowledge of compensation plan designs and administration. Proven experience in data analytics a plus.
- Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills. Prior experience working with executive leaders, teams of cross functional employees and multiple partners and stakeholders.
- Proven skill and understanding of change management with the ability to influence stakeholders with competing priorities and differences of opinion towards a common goal and solution, enabling decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in related field
- 8 years of experience in related field
- Certification preferred
- Ability to manage deadlines
- Ability to work on multiple assignments and prioritize accurately
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally (and externally as applicable)
- Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills
- Must be able to travel based on department needs
