Job Purpose/Objective:

Results and Execution (Drive & Operational Execution) - Drive activities to hit utilization targets across practice groups (Audit, Tax and Advisory)
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the RM team within the Practice Management Office and the use of the ProStaff scheduling system
- Execute operational focus areas
- Meet productivity standards, individual and practice groups and minimize unassigned time
Resource Management Operations
- Lead the organization from design and through implementation on the Resource Management (RM) journey from administrative ‘scheduling’ to RM as a strategic discipline
- Lead efforts to drive the creation and adoption of consistent business practices for the following:
- Assigning available employees to projects in accordance with their skillsets, previous experience, professional goals, and availability
- Capacity planning
- Forecasting
- Monitoring and managing employee’s workload and utilization
- Managing resource conflicts
- Cross-office sharing of resources
- Documenting and measuring process effectiveness (utilization %, scheduled to actual, scheduled to budgeted, employee retention rates, etc.)
- Manage vendor relationships, optimize the process of vendor support for application development and reporting for resource management solutions.
Business Process Excellence
- Lead process with internal stakeholders to establish RM Scorecard to agree on KPIs and measure performance
Business Analysis
- Understand and influence performance to achieve leverage and pricing goals
- Expert knowledge of practice groups
- Quickly recognize and act upon business trends on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
- Diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions, striking the right balance between speed/flexibility and process consistency
Communication / Collaboration
- Effective communication (feedback, difficult messages, and expectations)

- Facilitate issue resolution with internal staff and customers
- Lead the RM team’s collaboration with HR regarding staff performance management, workforce planning, capturing, and maintaining staff skills’ profiles, managing relationships with contract/contingent labor vendors, etc.

Cross Functional Engagement
- Collaborate with team members across the Practice Management Office and with business unit leaders, back-office operations leaders, Resource Managers, functional leaders, and users to ensure RM solutions are aligned with business objectives and managed in accordance with principles of efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with Director of Customer Success to ensure usage and adoption objectives are defined, measurable and monitored for RM processes and systems
- Collaborate with Practice Management Office’s Director of Customer Success to ensure alignment between business objectives and efficient use of RM solution functionality including but not limited to: utilization of resources, matching of resource requirements with available resource capacity, clear definition and use of staff skills functionality
- Collaborate with, Corporate Finance, Financial Services Finance Group, Financial Planning & Analysis, National Tax Office, Mayer Hoffman McCann and IT and any other groups deemed necessary.
Business and HR Responsibilities
- Oversee the professional development of a team of between 4-5
- Oversee matrix connections with Resource Managers embedded in local office and practice groups
- Foster a culture of accountability ensuring that expectations are clear in the goal setting process and deliver feedback regularly.

Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of operations within the accounting firm industry
- Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

- Previous experience as a project/resource/HR manager or in the related industry
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
- CPA Preferred
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business management or comparable work experience
- 10+ years of relevant work experience
- 5+ years relevant work experience in a Resource Management environment
- Conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills,
- Must possess critical thinking, analytical and forecasting skills
- Interpersonal interaction skills (effective communication, negotiation, collaboration, the ability to be diplomatic and stand one’s ground)
- Ability to travel as required by business
