Optumas is also on the forefront of healthcare reform initiatives, helping multiple states weigh the opportunities and consequences created by constantly changing healthcare delivery and payment systems.
As a Data Analyst / Consultant you will using analytic tools, identify, design, recommend, and execute solutions to deliver actionable information to customers. Provide follow-up consultation on solutions as needed, support and contribute to client and business analytics projects by supporting consulting teams and develop strategies. You will use modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools, including Tableau dashboards, infographics, reports, and models, to inform and support decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support client teams with a combination of raw data analysis and aggregation to support external reporting.
- Serve as an internal technical and analytic consultant to define business questions and transform data into meaningful and actionable information for a variety of customer segments
- Display initiative in research beyond the specific assignment.
- Pursue expansion of current knowledge and skills
- Meaningfully contribute to the area’s workload, considering volume and complexity
- Loads, processes, and analyzes health care enrollment and claims / encounter data to support a variety of health care consulting projects.
- Develops a good understanding of our business model, objectives, issues, and challenges by interacting and collaborating with clients and client teams.
- Use database tools like SAS or SQL, to collect and analyze new data sets and support Tableau reporting.
- Develop and deploy Tableau dashboards that convey data supported population and health care insights.
- The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in business, mathematics, statistics, healthcare administration or related field of study
- Tableau: 2 years (required)
- Data analysis skills 2 years (required):
- Intermediate proficiency in SAS and/or SQL plus Excel spreadsheets and Tableau
- Intermediate proficiency in mathematics and statistics
- Broad understanding of health insurance terms and concepts
- Analytical knowledge necessary to generate analytic solutions
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with others
- Strong aptitude for working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Work with client teams to create project requirements and estimate the size of project work.
- Ability to interpret data and present results to client teams and clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in related field
- Achieve professional certifications relative to area of expertise, must have and preserve required licenses
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Presentation skills mandatory
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
