CBIZ’s Credit Risk Advisory Group serves the needs of a diversified client base, including financial institutions, private equity and hedge funds, and institutional investors. Our professionals provide services specifically tailored to our clients' changing needs, including the varying aspects of initial or periodic analysis for financial transactions, including debt and equity transactions. Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Analyzing business financial statements and tax returns
- Analyzing personal financial statements, credit bureau reports and tax returns
- Providing insightful commentary on the financial condition of a business and individuals
- Identifying and describing the credit risks of the businesses and individuals
- Suggesting specific actions to avoid, lessen or mitigate risks
- Working quickly and efficiently with negligible mistakes and errors
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and oversight
- Must be able to meet client deadlines and prioritize tasks and workflow
- Ability to multi-task several simultaneous projects
- Leading projects as necessary and overseeing junior employees
- Utilizing various spreading software from WoltersKluwer, Moody’s, and Baker Hill
- Using Microsoft Excel and Word to prepare financial analyses and commentaries
- Flexibility to work either independently or as part of a team
- Critical thinking and analysis skills of complex business and financial situations
- Rapid assessment of financial condition and clear communication thereof
- Must be able to define strengths, weaknesses and potential risks of borrowers
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
- Three to five (3 – 5) years commercial credit analysis experience, at a minimum
- Experience analyzing various business types, sectors, industries and verticals
- Attention to detail, thoroughness and accuracy of work product
- Be able to work independently with minimal oversight and direction
- Able to mentor and advise junior staff on work related tasks if necessary
- Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in writing credit memos and analysis with ideas expressed clearly
- Understanding of credit/underwriting policies, procedures
- Basic knowledge of applicable laws and regulations of the banking industry
- Formal credit training from Bank or industry association such as RMA preferred
- Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office, internet, and research software
- Experience and proficiency using financial spreading software either from Moody’s, Baker Hill, WoltersKluwer (CASH)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
