Founded in 2006, Optumas works primarily with State Medicaid agencies and Medicaid Managed Care Plans, providing guidance and strategy to help them remain efficient and effective purchasers of healthcare Services. Optumas is also on the forefront of healthcare reform initiatives, helping multiple states weigh the opportunities and consequences created by constantly changing healthcare delivery and payment systems.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
- Participates in client meetings, client presentations and internal team meetings.
- Assists with determining methodologies and approach for project.
- Assists with the development of client deliverables including written documents.
- Ensures all work products are technically peer reviewed and submitted for consulting review.
- Actively communicates project status updates with internal team (junior and senior members).
- Act as a resource for support staff.
- Hybrid work schedule available for local candidates
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, business, economics, finance, health policy, statistics, or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a professional environment performing actuarial, data, financial or health care related analyses and consulting
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Expertise using Microsoft Office suite
- Experience working within a team environment
- Ability to communicate, present findings and recommendations to other team members in a clear format
- Must be able to comprehend, manipulate and interpret statistical data
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in related field
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Presentation skills mandatory
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
