We currently are looking to hire a Business Development Consultant who will be responsible for sales generation within the tangible asset group of CBIZ Valuation Group. The Business Development Consultant works to win new clients and expand relationships with existing clients – pursuing sales opportunities with the objective of winning new business. This role has significant career growth potential and unlimited earning potential.  

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Target and penetrate public sector organizations as well middle-market and larger businesses as well as to source new opportunities for CBIZ Valuation Group primarily for our tangible asset group but also for our comprehensive services including financial, real estate and machinery and equipment appraisal and valuation.
  • Schedule appointments and visits, virtually and/or in-person, with potential and current referral sources, specifically the insurance broker channel to secure referrals to end users.
  • Support prospecting and referral activity through a goal of 20 sales appointments per month, conducted in-person, through video conference technologies, or by phone.
  • Continually identify and qualify new sales opportunities through building trusted relationships and maximizing enterprise sales programs, campaigns, and content-driven digital programming.
  • Analyzing prospects' needs and interests, determining which products are appropriate for them, and coordinating with appropriate Client Service leaders as necessary.
  • Work closely with Client Service colleagues in leading a team sales approach that listens and responds to prospect needs, including producing proposals using proprietary tools to highlights the CBIZ value proposition, and demonstrates a compelling win strategy.
  • Skillfully contact Risk Managers and financial leaders in industries including manufacturing, construction, business services and public sector to understand their needs, future plans, and desire for change.
  • Partner with Client Service Teams to develop and execute sales campaigns specific to your local market and practice groups.
  • Plan and report weekly sales activity using Salesforce CRM enterprise application.
  • Report to National Director of Business Development while maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders including Senior Managing Directors, Managing Directors and Practice Leaders, and Marketing and Operations Professionals.
  • Responsible for crafting an annual sales plan and for meeting annual sales goal, agreed-to by you and the National Director of Business Development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualificaitons

  • The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a fundamental understanding of business administration, finance, insurance and/or accounting
  • Proven sales ability represented by a minimum of 2 years of direct sales experience
  • Growth mind-set and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts, solutions, and technologies
  • Possess knowledge of C-level persona-types and their buying triggers and patterns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus very strong presentation skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and to multi-task
