The Billing Manager will work with Managing Directors, Directors, and fellow administrative staff to facilitate the timely billing and collection of accounts receivable.  This position will evolve into a Supervisory role.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties


•     Establish a working relationship with assigned Managing Directors and Directors to determine billing needs for each of their clients


•     Analyze WIP in contracts in order to preapre draft invoices for Directors and Managing Directors to review/approve and deliver such invoices to our clients


•     Submit billing adjustments or receivable write offs to the Assistant Controller for approval


•     Provide timely WIP, AR, and client account history reporting to Managing Directors and Directors as needed


•     Provide copies of invoices, credit memos, account reconciliations, or other supporting documents to clients as requested


•     Help maintain client contact information including names, titles, phone numbers, and email addresses


•     Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Required


•     Bachelor’s Degree required


•     1+ years of relevant work experience


•     Strong understanding of all Microsoft office packages, particularly Excel


•     Prior billing experience


•     Strong attention to detail


•     Exemplary customer service skills, including excellent judgement and discretion


•     Professional telephone manner and office demeanor; A spirit of co-operation and a positive “can do” attitude


•     Ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally


•     Ability to work in team environment as well as independently / remotely


•     Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities; Ability to take initiative and to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines


•     Infrequent travel between our Boston, MA and Providence, RI locations may be required


•     Flexibility to work outside normal office hours - particularly during periods of high billing volume in the Spring and Fall

Preferred Qualifications


•     Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or relevant field


•     Experience working in the accounting industry in an audit, tax or admin role


•     Experience with Practice Engine time and billing software
