Corporate HR in our Kansas City, MO office is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to assist internal clients with questions and ensure department goals are met through teamwork and collaboration.  Position requires development of subject matter expertise. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•         Provide support to the benefits team
•         Develop a  superior level of understanding of all group and voluntary benefit plans in order to assist with questions
•         Keep all benefit-related postings current on the various internal websites
•         Manage the set up and operation of the benefits team web conferences
•         Resolve a full range of internal customer requests which may in some cases require engaging other resources for resolution
•         Receive external communication and ensure all matters are directed to the appropriate resource for resolution
•         Develop a good level of understanding of the retirement plan administration in order to assist with associate questions and issues that have been escalated to the Corporate Benefits office
•         Monitor and correct weekly interface error files between our payroll system and our retirement plan vendor, and various other benefits related interfaces
•         Develop a working knowledge of the  Human Resources information system (HCM) and payroll systems and how they interface with the various  benefit carriers  file integrations
•         Develop a good level of knowledge of the third party administrator process for COBRA billing Participate in the updates to  and distribution of annual open enrollment materials
•         Research and assemble data
•         Execute administrative duties as assigned
•         Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Requirements:

•         1 year of relevant work experience; background or training in employee benefit plans a plus
•         Intranet maintenance a plus
•         Excellent customer service skills
•         Proficient use of Excel and Word 
•         Ability to take direction from direct and indirect supervisors

Minimum Requirements:

•         High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
•         Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally
•         Proficient use of applicable technology
•         Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
