 We are looking to hire an Audit Manager to join our Real Estate Team!  The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in Public Accounting in the Real Estate Industry.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Top review of audits, reviews and compilations for clients
  • Follow financial statement drafts through processing, answer any questions that arise and submit the report to the Partner for final approval and signature.
  • Maintain steady contact with assigned clients throughout the business year.
  • Evaluate internal accounting controls and audit programs prepared by the staff.
  • Follow the progress of the work in relation to budgeted time and scheduled date of completion.
  • Be sensitive to the client’s view of our services including the conduct of the engagement.
  • Keep the Partner informed on a timely basis as to all important engagement developments. They should also present to the Partner the major problems that occur, with all of the facts, their conclusions and recommendations.
  • Resolve problems with the Partner’s approval and supervise report preparation as engagements near completion.
  • Deal directly with the client’s attorneys, taxing agents and other parties.
  • Supervise the preparation of management letters and tax returns.
  • Prepare the current billing memorandum. Managers will submit the final bill, together with a comparison of time budgeted and the time actually spent, to the Partner for review and approval.
  • Enhance the Firm’s reputation and their own by conducting seminars, making speeches and having articles published in professional journals.
  • Assist/participate with practice development and Firm management.
  • Develop a list of contacts and begin cultivating relationships.
  • Assume full responsibility, in direct liaison with the Engagement Partner, for all aspects of an engagement and related client services.
  • Motivate and assist staff members in their professional development.
  • Represent the Firm in deliberations with client executives and their representatives.
  • Enhance the Firm’s reputation through excellence in practice before the professional community and regulatory agencies.
  • Develop strong relationships with employees while enhancing productivity.
  • Plan and organize work assignments.
  • Develop and evaluate staff.
  • Address performance issues and concerns with appropriate employees and upper level management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience should have involved small to large corporations requiring compilations, review and audit statements; preferably with a small to mid size Public Accounting firm.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong experience in the Real Estate industry (preferably in public accounting)
  • 6+ years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
