The AR Collections Specialist will work with Managing Directors, Directors, and fellow administrative staff to facilitate the timely collection of CBIZ New England accounts receivable.  This is a part-time position.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Establish a working relationship with assigned Managing Directors and Directors to determine collection needs and the level of involvement desired for each of their clients
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from multiple Managing Directors and Directors
  • Submit receivable write offs to the Assistant Controller for approval
  • Provide timely AR reporting to Managing Directors and Directors as needed
  • Provide copies of invoices, credit memos, account reconciliations, or other supporting documents to clients as requested
  • Initiate follow up with clients as directed by Managing Directors/Directors based on the status of past due balances
  • Record receivables collection activity within our database and follow up on outstanding items
  • Help maintain client contact information including names, titles, phone numbers, and email addresses
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of all Microsoft office packages, particularly Excel
  • Experience with accounts receivable and collections processes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exemplary customer service skills, including excellent judgement and discretion
  • Ability to empathize and influence others while staying on task
  • Professional telephone manner and office demeanor; A spirit of co-operation and a positive “can do” attitude
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as independently / remotely
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities; Ability to take initiative and to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Infrequent travel between our Boston, MA and Providence, RI locations may be required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a professional services organization
  • Prior billing experience
  • Experience with Practice Engine time and billing software
