We are seeking to attract a highly motivated self-starter to join us in growing our existing consulting capabilities serving clients in higher education, education and nonprofit who are seeking help with transformation and change. Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Provides opportunity assessment services relative for organizations seeking transformation and change including process improvement, cost optimization, revenue growth strategies  and shared service models
  • Provides interim services via temporary chief financial officer, controller and related assistance
  • Assists and supports accreditation readiness services within the higher education space
  • Develops work plans and executes analyses to assess complex questions of fact, assists in preparing reports and schedules summarizing findings that will be delivered to clients and other parties
  • Supervises and performs day-to-day activities in support of consulting and technical accounting advisory projects including interaction with client personnel, other team members, and professionals from other firms involved in the engagement.
  • Applies accounting, financial, and analytical skills to various client situations and practice disciplines, such as detailed reviews of financial statements and underlying accounting records, preparation of complex cash flow projections, and preparation of worksheets to model business processes
  • Develops new business relationships both internally at CBIZ and externally in the market place to help generate new business
  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships with client personnel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a consultative environment in either internal or external roles
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated analytical and issue resolution experience
  • Aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Ability to successfully interface with team members and client personnel
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to meet client needs
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements and work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously while managing time and budget

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in accounting, business or related field
  • 8 years of experience in non-profit higher education in roles of operations and change management
  • Proficient with PC environments and related software, including Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
