Essential Functions and Primary Duties

  • Perform daily cash reconciliation functions across multiple database and bank platforms
  • Review client account balances for accuracy and help resolve discrepancies in cash funding
  • Prepare weekly reconciliation reports to report cash positions by client for large book of business.
  • Research and analyze variances in client cash positions to determine the correct course of action (i.e. refund, collection, or remittance to agencies), often with the involvement of other internal departments
  • Maintain updated knowledge of changing financial and control environment relevant to department and company operations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing procedures within a growing company environment
  • Ability to think critically when working through new processes with a focus on validation or recommendation for improvement of the process
  • Research and resolve positive pay exceptions within banking systems to ensure timely clearing of payments
  • Prepare and post sub-ledger journal entries for cash transactions
  • Verify funds availability and submit manual ACH and wire transfer transactions
  • Provide backup coverage for other tasks as necessary
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications 

 

  • 1-2 years Accounting experience
  • 1-2 years banking or cash reconciliation experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting/finance related field
  •  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associate’s Degree in accounting/finance related field
  • Strong attention to detail/high level of accuracy
  • Excellent time management skills – consistently meets both internal & external deadlines
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Possess intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, data functions, and pivot tables
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities with limited direction
